There's plenty to learn from the forest service and many exhibits both right at the beginning and down the 200+ steps to the lake and river system. If you bring people that aren't as mobile, they can still enjoy a lot of the main features like the monument, museum, gift store, first overlook and camping around the property. When you get there you are greeted by the monument and there are plenty of places to park. Stop at all of them and make a whole afternoon or day of it! ![]() Easy to find and one of several places along the highway to view and engage with the forest and river system. Prior reviews and pictures looked like this was right up our alley because it gets us 1) outside looking at nature's beauty 2) exercise as the property is large! and 3) education and appreciation of the culture and past of the area. ![]() My wife and I were staying at the Huron House BnB nearby (check out my review of that great stay!) and were looking for things to do that were interesting.
